ABOUT VYS
VYS exists because young people already notice what needs to change—and deserve a real place to develop, question, create, and share their ideas.
We believe education should not stop at knowing the answer. It should also help young people ask better questions, understand the world around them, and imagine what could be different.

01 / NOTICE
A student notices an overflowing bin.
02 / QUESTION
Why is there nowhere to study after school?
03 / EXPERIENCE
A young person feels excluded from a public space.
These observations are often treated as ordinary complaints. VYS asks a different question: What if these observations became the starting point for solutions?
VYS creates opportunities for young people to move from observation → investigation → creation → action.
VYS is influenced by experiential learning, critical thinking, project-based learning, and critical pedagogy.
OBSERVE
What is happening around them?
QUESTION
Why is it happening?
INVESTIGATE
What does the evidence tell us?
CREATE
What could make it better?
ACT
How can the idea be shared or tested?
INSPIRED BY PAULO FREIRE
Brazilian educator and philosopher Paulo Freire argued that education can help people understand and engage with the world around them rather than simply receive information from an authority.
VYS is influenced by this broader idea: young people should have opportunities not only to learn about the world, but also to think critically with others about how it could be improved.
THE VYS MODEL

Notice. Look closely at the world around you.
THINK
Question and understand. Explore causes, evidence, and perspectives.
CREATE
Imagine and develop. Turn understanding into a practical idea.
